Yoga poses for beginners is a series of poses that follow a logical sequence, from the least challenging to more challenging ones. Each session generally begins with a warm-up to prepare the body for exercises; then the positions gradually become intensified; next there is a short cooling off period, and finally you will usually end your practice with relaxation exercises.
Most yoga sessions follow a linear sequence, which means that each pose is performed only once, but much flexibility is allowed. You may choose to repeat certain poses, each time focusing your attention on another element of the posture. See if this works for you by performing a posture three times, paying attention to the spine, legs, and arms, respectively.
Few list of yoga poses for beginners
Mountain yoga: This is a great way to improve your posture and practice breathing. Stand up with your feet hip-width apart, and keep your arms at your sides. Then, take a deep breath in while lifting your arms up all the way over your head. Remember to keep your arms straights.
Tree yoga: Just like in the mountain pose, begin by standing up firmly with your arms at your sides. Balance the weight of your body so that you can stand on one leg. Bring the foot of the other leg to your inner thigh. Place your palms together in front of you in a prayer position. Take a deep breath in, extend your arms up towards the sky, keeping your palms apart shoulder-width. Maintain the pose for half a minute. Lower down the arms and repeat for the other leg.
Downward dog: It’s time to get on all fours! Keep your hands shoulder-width and knees in line with the hips. Move your hands a few centimeters forward, and press your palms firmly on the mat. Slowly raise your hips towards the sky. Your body should resemble the inverted letter V. Breathe in and out three times, and relax.
Child’s yoga poses for beginners: This is the perfect way to cool down at the end of your session. Start by sitting on your feet, knees bent, then bring the torso of your body towards the ground, letting your forehead touch the mat. Your chest should rest on your thighs, or you may spread your knees apart and let your torso go between your thighs, whichever feels more comfortable for you. Extend your arms in front of you and breathe.
